BMA Software® and Microsoft® announces a strategic partnership to produce a new software program developed for the Wholesale Tool & Fastener Distribution Industry.

February 21, 2009
BMA Software® will leverage Microsoft technology to produce a superior product for the wholesale distribution industry.

CHESTERFIELD (Feb. 21, 2009) – BMA Software® has developed a new software program to provide the Industrial Distributor with better visibility for businesses  to give them an edge over  competitors in this turbulent economy.  This will be a major upgrade for the product from its Borland/Delphi platform.  The new software, named BMA Software® Version Nine (V9), is built using VB. Net technology with a Microsoft Dynamics GP platform and Microsoft SQL Server database.

In November of last year, we introduced our Beta release (V9, version 1.0) and began implementing it to twenty-four (24) former BMA customers.  BMA Software V9-2.0 will be released this 3/31/09 just in time for the public release BMA Software® Version Nine.  Along with many new features, this new program includes never before offered modules such as CRM, Field Service, Warranty & Depot Repair, Discrete Manufacturing, Human Resources, Project Management, Rules-Based Configuration, Job Floor Management, Sales Force Automation, and Web Marketing Management.

In addition to new software modules, the new BMA version offers advanced business intelligence and business visibility tools.  Such tools include the following: a roles-based Dashboard log-in, Alerts (custom reminders that can be linked to mission-critical tasks), Smart List (dynamic links to data), Business Metrics (Key Performance Indicators that can be displayed as graphs or gauges), Workflow (custom defined processes that provide accountability to each step of each task), Cubes (Excel business analysis and data mining tool set), and a Report Writer that allows direct drill downs to the GL transactional level.  Moreover, each tool set ships complete with hundreds of pre-formatted examples so that new users can hit the ground running.

On top of the improved functionality and technology, BMA Software® has additional modules that allow for the custom configuration of not only the reports but the screens and fields within the program.  These tool sets are sold as options for those distributors who have unique business needs that require special screens and functionality not offered out-of-the-box.   One such tool, called Extender, allows a user to add any field or object to any screen within the program.  An example of this tool is when an extra note or data field may be needed in a screen.  Another tool, called Modifier, allows a user to change the design and layout of any screen as well as giving the user the ability to add fields, tabs, verbiage, radio buttons, objects, images, boxes and drill downs.

In summary, the BMA Software® team is proud to offer BMA customers the confidence and security in knowing that their investment is built around a Microsoft® end-to-end solution.  “We wanted to do something to assure our customers that we would be one step ahead of their competitors, what better way to do that than to partner with the technology leader, says Michael D. Hollingsworth, Managing partner and founder of BMA Software®.  With Microsoft®, BMA customers will have available to them many resources that they have never had before, such as On-Line Video Product Tutorials, Weekly Webinars, a Customer Resource Portal, Over eighty-eight downloaded document manuals with hyperlinks, regional Seminars, full Microsoft integration to the Web and to all of Microsoft Products such as Maplinks, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., not to mention a $7 billion dollar R $ D budget.
